Welcome to My Retirement Adventure!
I'm not a PhD holder, but I do have a DD214 from my honorable discharge from the United States Air Force. I served for nearly nine years. My journey post-military has been anything but typical. Fueled by dreams inspired by Robert G. Allen’s "Nothing Down," I ventured into real estate, hoping to become a millionaire. Though I acquired some properties, I didn’t quite reach that goal. I barely reached the rank of "thousandaire."
Over the years, I've worn many hats: an on-air personality on the radio, construction laborer, door-to-door salesperson, Real Estate speculator, a student advisor for stock trading students, and a mortgage banker. Despite working for Fortune 500 companies, I never earned a pension and raided my 401(k) during the 2008 stock market crash just to keep my home.
Today, retirement feels like a luxury reserved for the wealthy. Many are working well into their senior years out of necessity. I don’t aspire to a life of porch-sitting and mint juleps. I dream of traveling, playing with my grandchildren, and enjoying the freedom to spend my days as I choose. But true financial freedom requires adequate resources.
Social Security is my primary income source, and it’s not enough to meet my needs. So, I’m learning to create income on my terms, avoiding the stress of being micromanaged by someone younger than my own children. This is why I started this website.
